We met up with about 29 others as an Advent Study Group. We stayed in the Conservatory for the meeting. The chairs are very comfortable, radiators were on but despite how many there were in there, the temperature felt just right. We will be meeting weekly for another 3 weeks
Sorry I can't comment on the rooms or pricing or meals. But I'm sure it will be worth you checking it out. Beautiful countryside around the area, so will be ideal for walking.

I stayed at Netherby House for four nights last weekend. It's a lovely Victorian house with beautiful gardens which lead down to a summer house which over looks the valley behind the house. There is plenty of off street parking at the rear of the house. The house is only four miles from Whitby and takes about ten minutes to drive in. There is a park and ride half way between the village and Whitby and also a railway station for the village. I'm not sure how far it is from Netherby House but we passed through it when we took the steam train from Whitby to Pickering.
The room we had was in a ground floor annex. It was large with a sitting area and decent sized TV with Sky FreeSat. The bathroom was also large and there was a large cupboard with a hanging rail and shelves for clothes. There was also a vanity with draws and two bedside tables for storage as well. The room was clean, comfortable and warm.
Breakfast is served in a large bright and airy dinning room. There is a a good selection of fruit, cereal, tea, coffee and juices. The selection for cooked breakfast is very good. The food was cooked to perfection and the breakfast was delicious and filling.
There is a small bar and guest lounge. Netherby House used to provide evening meals but this is no longer available. Free WiFi is available although due to the age of the property with its thick walls getting a connection can be hit and miss. The owners have added signal boosters to the house, but these don't reach all the rooms in the annex although my room was outside of the boosters range I did manage to get onto the Wi-Fi now and again. But I mostly used the data I have on my phone.
All the staff at Netherby House were very friendly and helpful. They made us feel welcome. Hayley and Maureen really looked after us and made our stay all the more enjoyable. I would stay here again and will be recommending it to friends and family.

visited a week ago, although the room was absolutely fine really clean and tidy, views were amazing I must say considering we paid £336.00 for two nights I was more than disappointed with the breakfast, I feel orange juice should be available without having to ask for it, as I am not at all a picky person I found the first breakfast terrible the sausage and bacon were so dried up like rubber and cold toast, second morning bacon was better the sausage(being about 3" long and 1/2" if that thick was terrible)
I asked for poached egg and beans on toast and a piece of toast for myself and two grandchildren my husband just wanted a plain piece of bread with his breakfast, I received my eggs which were fine and my small spoon of beans, but we still had no toast or plain bread I asked the waiter twice politely if we could have these to eat obviously with breakfast, 15 mins later and cold breakfast we receive 1 piece of burnt toast, I gave it back and waited then we got the 3 toast(still burnt piece)
but no plain bread for husband eventually he got the bread with cold breakfast. as the dining room was not even busy and the hotel has awards for the breakfast we were very disappointed.

Would like to advise everyone; (please feel free to share this)
About how this bed and breakfast, quoted me a rate over the phone of £53:00 per room per night b&b. I confirmed my requirements of 2 double rooms, 1 with a z bed in. I was presented the next morning with a bill for £232.00. Which they had broken down as £53 per person and £20 for the extra bed. I immediately queried this and advised that I was quoted the above of £53 per room b&b only. After explaining several times what was agreed with to me over the phone, the staff phoned the owner who took my booking. He quickly became abusive and shouted at me over the phone. I handed the phone back to the staff stating that I would not be shouted at and that he had told me that he would call the police. To which I asked them to do so as I believed I was being accused of not settling my bill and trying to leave without paying. This was not the case and I was trying to pay the verbally agreed contracted rate of £53.00 per room b&b. I pointed out had I been quoted £53 per person I would never have made a reservation as that was too much to pay for one nights accommodation in a small bed and breakfast.
After several condescending comments about my" not knowing how much things cost" from the receptionist, the manager agreed that I should just pay the £106. At which point I also said that the z-bed was broken and had been before we had tried to use it and my son had to sleep on the mattress on the floor. She admitted that she had know that but hadn't bother to change it as she was "too tired".
I left the hotel without a hotel receipt, I was refused a copy, and only my visa slip, which I had to ask for.
The following day the hotel had charged my Visa card and additional £134.00 without my authorization.
I would also like to point out to the hotel how the room with the single beds that they allocated for my children, with the broken z bed was not suitable for an extra bed. After moving furniture around the room to make space for the mattress, it was put in the only space big enough, in front of the door blocking the fire exit to the room. I believe this is a contravention of fire regulations.

The room we stayed in was a lovely double room, outside of the main B&B. There was a full tea and coffee service with biscuits and hot chocolate in the room, along with a TV and sitting area. The staff were polite, friendly and willing to provide directions and handy tips on the best places to park. The breakfast was lovely and well received. Our only complaint was the temperature. The rooms were very cold, despite the radiator being turned up fully and having a thick double duvet and extra bedspread. As we were only staying 1 night (and we understood Feb is a cold month!) We accepted the low temperature as part and parcel of our stay!
